Well, 450 miles Saturday and just over 700 total so far have us in West Wendover, NV, a stones throw from the Utah border.

We took U.S. 95 to Winnemucca,  where we picked up I-80 for the final 225 miles of the day. The freeway isn’t necessarily all that interesting, but at an average speed of 80 mph, the miles do disappear quickly.

Saturday was mainly about eating up distance, but there nevertheless were some visual highlights, including a rare, circular rainbow around the sun in the sky over Winnemucca. There was also a cool veterans memorial park in Winnemucca that featured a collection of old weaponry, including this World War II tank:

Opted against any gambling in Nevada, btw.  Didn’t do so well last time out at Spirit Mountain, plus I figured a 2,500 mile motorcycle ride is enough risk already (not really; motorcycling is quite safe).

Catch you tomorrow from Moab.
