I don’t know about all of you, but I’ve definitely been enjoying the generally warmer, sunnier, better weather we’ve had of late.

Great temperatures for playing ball, riding the motorcycle — thanks again for the help replacing that clutch cable, Ken Tubbs — and generally enjoying not having to worry much about being cold or wet regardless of time of day or night.

When the mercury starts to rise a bit as it has, it also gets me thinking once again of something I almost never eat during the colder parts of the year: ice cream.

It just doesn’t occur to me much to have, say, a cone or sundae when it’s 25 degrees outside.

I’m not, like, an enormous cool-treat consumer, but I do enjoy them and have definitely picked my spots with them over the years.

As a kid I drank of Icees at Plaid Pantry and Slurpees from 7-Eleven (not ice-cream-based, I realize, but bear with me); I liked both, but I sort of have a soft spot for the Slurpee because for a time they came in plastic cups bearing the images of major league baseball players. I of course collected the cups and had them for a long time, but I’m not sure they survived my mom’s sale of our family home a few years back.

I also loved sno-cones (lime was my favorite flavor) at carnivals and such, and of course who doesn’t at least sort of like a Popsicle? Orange was my top flavor there.

Today’s Top 7, though, is going to focus on treats containing ice cream, so without further ado, here we go:

1. The Drumstick (I actually prefer the kind without caramel, btw).

2. The Nutty Buddy.

3. Skinny Cow.

4. Hasty Freez ice cream cone (make mine chocolate).

5. The Creamsicle.

6. The Fudgsicle.

7. A&W root beer float.
