If you read yesterday’s post — and, of course, shame on you if you didn’t — you know that it dealt with rock and roll songs that had a color reference in their title.

As you might imagine, it wasn’t that hard to come up with seven good examples of such tunes.

In fact, the possibilities were so plentiful that I found myself thinking I could have made a second Top 7 featuring songs I liked at least almost as well as the ones that filled out the first list.

So, in the interest of, well, fairness to those other songs/artists, and because it seemed an easy way to write a new post at a time when both city editor Karen Petersen and news editor Kim Jackson are on vacation, I decided to do just that. So, here we go:

1) Pink Houses, John Mellencamp.

2) Blackbird, the Beatles.

3) Heart of Gold, Neil Young

4) Touch of Grey, the Grateful Dead.

5) Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, Crosby, Stills and Nash.

6) White Room, Cream.

7) Purple Haze, Jimi Hendrix.
